Fool’s gold
O what my eyes admire, my heart desires, fool’s gold! I race with a pace that resonates with my pace maker. I strive ,even with my last gasp of breath to ascend mount ‘hope’ .I see folks rising higher and higher still in the pursuit, a course different from mine, yet pleasing to the eye, and I’m reeled off my track-I stray to get what the common folk call ‘a life of ease” . My ascent is oft met with interludes of despair as I watch men of renown, and the pauper too, glide smoother than a rollercoaster on their upward incline to greatness. I get cold chills as I wonder whether I have taken on a life of sacrifice. I regain composure and race on. Though my strength is sapped as in the heat of summer. I keep a straight face to reach my end. For my end is the beginning of what keeps me going. I have fixed my eyes on another day, another time, but o my! How the world so allures me! Should I turn to the left, or perhaps to the right? Nay, my wind may lead through trackless trails, yet if to eternity it leads, I shall tread it.
The wall-journal
If walls could talk, they would tell more than a tale. Many a mystery would be in resolve, controversies ended, but for new ones to resurface. Many a heart would be broken while others mended. Walls; they break no truce, you can confide in them, yet they neither plead the cause of innocence nor judge the guilty. Justice and injustice alike bears no meaning. Perhaps their silence is eloquence. May be we needn’t know or understand everything. Perhaps ignorance is bliss. Like a wobbling wave on restless seas, the silence twitches between ‘golden and sheer coldness’.
